07.09.08:
LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE
has
recently announced that THEY TOO are NOT going to
perform for the Grand Opening of the new BOK CENTER
in Tulsa, OK. "We might consider
playing there perhaps at some point in the future, but
for now, we'll just have to wave and smile and blow
kisses at the Mayor and the City Council," a
spokesperson for the groups said Tuesday. More as
this story develops.
05.30.08:
LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE
will be
going to Rushville, IL to headline the annual Harley Party, an
8th-annual bike rally and
Harley-Davidson giveaway sponsored by WJEQ Classic 103
FM, Macomb, IL. The event will take place on Saturday,
July 12th, 2008 and LET'S ZEPPELIN takes the stage at
7:30PM.
They will
be giving away a Harley-Davidson 1200 Nightster
Sportster during our show!

05.06.08: Due to popular demand
and seemingly an ever-growing list of people who want to
see us play in Tulsa again, LET'S ZEPPELIN will be
performing at FISHBONZ on Friday, August 22nd, 2008, in
Tulsa. FISHBONZ is the venue that gave us our
start, way back when. We are thrilled to be
working with the awesome staff at FISHBONZ and bringing
our show back to a familiar stage!
01.17.08:
LET'S ZEPPELIN is proud to
announce our new Jimmy Page! Paul Roper, from the
Tulsa-based trio RPM, has taken on the duties of
performing as Jimmy. We anticipate many great
things from Paul, who is a true talent and has recently
received the whole-hearted endorsement of Scott Wright.
We are delighted and honored to have him with us and we
look forward to many great shows to come!
11.15.07:
We are sad to announce the
departure of Scott Wright from the group. Scott
has received an offer that he simply cannot refuse,
which will take him out of state. We love Scott
and wish him only the best in his future endeavors, and
will surely miss him.
11.01.07:
We
were recently honored by the kind words of a
fellow who saw us perform our show in Independence, Kansas
on October 27th. We were all touched by what he
wrote and would like to share it with you.
CASCADE ~ A POEM INSPIRED BY A TRIBUTE AND A MEMORY
A note from the
author:
"Last night my wife and I enjoyed a tribute
band called "Let's Zeppelin". If I have to tell you who they were honoring then
you have no reason to read this Blog because you will not
understand what I am talking about.
"Let's Zeppelin" wove their magic upon the Neewollah street stage. Neewollah (Halloween
spelled backwards), is the largest annual festival in Kansas and I can think of no
better way for the 10 days of activity to end than through the illusion which was played
out upon the stage. As my wife, our friend MoJo from KIND 102.9 Radio and I watched the
members of the band memories long forgotten flooded to the surface of my mind.
Some tribute bands are bad, some fair and some are good. But no matter what
their level of skill they all share the same magic, the ability to take us back to a time when we did
not just listen to the music, we became the music. "Let's Zeppelin" did
their job over and above and took us back, for a brief
moment, to a time when we would remain young forever.
On cold winter nights in northwest Missouri my high school
friends and I would gather, share a doobie and get lost within the music.
The rock groups of the 1960s and 1970s gave my generation a soundtrack to our lives and
background music to our souls. It is to this memory that I dedicate the following collage
and poem to the members of Let's Zeppelin."

"CASCADE"
by J. A. George
Heavy Dirigible floats overhead
Recalling songs of those long dead
Sacred plant in cellar room
Blue gray smoke paints the gloom
Purple glow from lights so black
Give color to color on velvet back
Flame to paper from grass stash
Glow of incense mocks gray ash
Good times give way to bad times
Both meld together as clock chimes
Women Know what is and should never be
As philosophers ramble on to me
And here upon my upholstered throne
I'm lost in space and far from home
Music beats in rhythm with my heart
Vibrations give way to celebration start
Rock and Roll I hear someone say
I take a hit and pass the dream away
California calls as does the ocean
Floor lifts and falls in wave like motion
And slowly in my time of dying
Within holy houses they are crying
Sipping from my tea hot as the sun
I cannot share just enough for one
And all my love is given to none
Yet I share it with all just for fun
While behind the door so broad and bold
Stairway goes not to heaven but into cold
With friends the song remains the same
A tribute given by band with similar name
Invoking memories of Jones, Bonham, Plant, Page
As familiar tunes vibrate across the stage
Taken back again to that basement room
Where the music once played
but ended too soon

05.06.07:
NEW
PICTURES
are up, from the April 27th show at Liquidz, courtesy of
our good friend, photographer Alan Mathis. These
pictures were a challenge for any photographer due to the
poor lighting (apparently the lighting guy had to go to
the bathroom during our show or something.) Another
photographer friend Gary English also took photos (but we
don't have them yet). However, despite the lack of
adequate lighting during our show, these make for some
really cool shots! (We're hiring our own Lighting
Director, by the way...)
04.28.07:
Let's Zeppelin enjoyed a fun show last night at
Liquidz. We were thrilled that the audience enjoyed
our show so much. It felt great to play in Tulsa again
(it's been over a year) and we would like to thank
everyone who came out to see! The crowd was great,
far exceeding our expectations. We certainly
appreciate the warm response we received. It was a
night to remember, and in our own hometown! Many
thanks to everyone. Check back for more information
about upcoming shows!
03.30.07:
Tickets are now available for the April 27th show with Dressed To Kill at Liquidz in
Tulsa. Two shows, one great night of rock and roll!
Hurry and get your tickets now!
03.18.07:
Let's
Zeppelin is proud to announce that we will be playing a
double-header with DRESSED TO KILL, (a KISS tribute) on
Friday, April 27th 2007. The show will take place at
LIQUIDZ, at 18th & Boston, in Tulsa.

01.13.07:
We've been
receiving numerous requests to perform again in
Tulsa. It has been a year or so since our last
show. We have mostly played out-of-state this past
year, and for private parties. We may do a show in
the Tulsa area in the next few months, but we haven't yet
figured out the optimal location to play. Please
check back for more information to be posted here in the
near future.
11.04.06:
Saturday, November 18th, 2006, LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE is

Tyler! We're looking forward to a great show!
Check back for more info to come soon!
10.27.06:

LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE is headed back to South Texas!
On Friday, October 13th, 2006,
LET'S ZEPPELIN will be performing at the South Padre Island
BikeFest at approximately 8:30 PM. For more details,
see www.spibikefest.com.
We will have new t-shirts and CD's available as well!
09.09.06:
LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE performed alongside 5
other national tribute acts at SCORCHER
7, Dodge Arena Hidalgo, Texas. We did not get
to video tape the show because our video camera was left
behind in Tulsa. However, thanks to Matt Salyer, we
have plenty of still
photos from the event! The event
took place on Sunday, September 3rd and included 12 hours
of just about every fun extreme sport thing you can
imagine, plus the "Concert fit for a King"
featuring ERUPTION (as Van Halen),
DESTROYER (as KISS), TIMELESS (as Pink Floyd),
SATISFACTION (as The Rolling Stones) and LET'S ZEPPELIN
(as Led Zeppelin). This tribute concert was even
hotter than the Shakira concert taking place at the same
arena a few weeks later!
LET'S
ZEPPELIN also has new t-shirts. They're black.
And very sexy. You'll want one, for certain.
07.13.06:
LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE has CD's now. But if you don't
want to wait for a CD, you can grab
the files right here on our website. The audio files
on the CD are the same as what is here. These were taken
from a live board mix; very dry, no effects. They are
usually available at our shows, but if you want one, let
us know via email.
Hopefully sometime before the end of 2006 our DVD demo
video will be available. Meanwhile, you can view excerpts
and samples from the final edit, right here on our website.
So if you're curious to know how much Let's Zeppelin looks
and sounds like Led Zeppelin, just hop over to our Media
page. Or our main
page. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
Tentatively scheduled is a performance in Texas on Labor
Day Weekend. More details to come as they are confirmed.
05.03.06:
LET'S ZEPPELIN: A TRIBUTE will be performing at the 10th
Annual Open Throttle Bike Rally and Blessing, located
in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. The event runs Saturday
May 6th and Sunday May 7th. Let's Zeppelin is the
final act to perform for the event. Start time for
Let's Zeppelin is at 2:45 PM, on the Main Stage which
is located at 5th & Broadway, downtown Pittsburg,
in southeast Kansas.
02.28.06:
Cain's Ballroom March 14th, 2006 is NOT CONFIRMED for
LET'S ZEPPELIN or DRESSED TO KILL. This was only a
RUMOR. We are NOT part of this show. We will
NOT be there and we are NOT opening up for THE CULT. We're
not opposed to such things, but such things usually
involve an agreement first. There have been absolutely
no discussions; we have not been approached at all about
this and sources from DRESSED TO KILL report that they
have not been approached, either. This was 'news' to all
of us and we want to set the record straight right now.
We do NOT wish to disappoint our fans and friends.
01.08.06:
New pictures have been added to the Gallery
page, under Event
Photos. These photos were taken by photographer
Alan Mathis. Thank you, Alan!
11.07.05:
Andrew Weeden will not be portraying John Paul Jones on
keyboards with us in December. Due to the holiday season
fast approaching and his busy schedule in the UK
portraying JIM STEINMAN with From
Paradise To Hell / Neverland Nemesis. (Plus he
gets to use his wig, too!) It's regretful, but we can't Bogart
him... we have to be nice and share!
Never fear, however... we shall not be without!
Renown pianist/keyboardist BRIAN LEE will be guest
performing with Let's Zeppelin for the December
Wednesdays. We are pleased and honored to welcome
Brian to our show. We can't wait to hear what he'll
do with "No Quarter"!
**************************
11.06.05:
Let's Zeppelin has T-shirts for sale! That's right,
kids... we're blowing them out! Here's what you get
for only five dollars! If you would like one, contact
us at letszeppelin05 at yahoo dot com for more information.

11.03.05:
Let's Zeppelin is pleased to announce Wednesdays in December
at FISHBONZ in Tulsa. Each Wednesday, the group will
portray a different time period in Zeppelin's performance
career, with costumes from particular shows such as Madison
Square Garden 1973, and Knebworth 1979. Each show will
be somewhat different as well.
**************************
08.23.05:
New video samples are posted on MEDIA page. Check them out! They are in .wmv format, and
each is about one minute long!! Get your exciting previews now by visiting the MEDIA page, (see menu to your right) and RIGHT CLICKING on each, hitting "Save Target As..." and saving them to a fine directory of your choice on your very own
computer. This way, you can watch them again and
again and again and again and again!!

07.08.05:
Due to numerous requests for us to
perform again locally, we have decided to perform a
special show on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24th, 2005 at FISHBONZ,
in Tulsa. As the owner of the club is a good friend
(and a huge Zeppelin fan), we recently confirmed the
date. Admission is $5, as it would normally be
at the club. This will be Andrew Weeden's debut show
with us. We're sure everyone will embrace him
warmly.
07.01.05:
Things have gotten incredibly British lately. While
we are indeed an American tribute to a British group (Led
Zeppelin was from England, if you didn't already know),
our not-quite-right attempts at phony British accents are
indeed steadily improving with the help of Andrew
Weeden, an authentic British person from London - just
like the real John Paul Jones! Ain't nuthin' like
the real thing, baby!! Okay, well, you know.
But Andrew's keyboard talents are equally as impressive
and amazing as his charming personality. It's like
hanging out with the real John Paul Jones, almost!
Back home in the UK, Andrew has a phenomenal
tribute band called "From
Paradise To Hell - A Tribute to Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf."
We have heard their demo - they are amazing. Imagine
that? A British tribute to an American artist!
What a coincidence! We are tremendously honored to
have Andrew's participation.
05.17.05:
We would like to thank everyone at HAWGS OF TEXAS for
having us. The show was a lot of fun and the crowd was
very much appreciated by the group. It was a great time
for all of us! Be sure to go online at
www.hawgsoftexas.com and vote
for your favorite band!
04.06.05:
